Manhattan's Travel
Medicine Clinic

Travelers Medical Center is a physician-operated travel medicine practice located in Greenwich Village. We've served New York City travelers since 2007, providing vaccines, malaria prophylaxis, pre-travel consultations, and post-travel care from a single, dedicated clinic.

A Dedicated Travel Medicine Practice in the Heart of Manhattan

Most New Yorkers see their primary care physician for travel health, but general practitioners see travel medicine patients rarely and may not be current on regional outbreaks, changing entry requirements, or destination-specific drug resistance patterns.

Travelers Medical Center is different. Travel medicine is all we do. Our physicians stay current with CDC, WHO, and ISTM guidance, and our on-staff infectious disease specialist brings over 20 years of experience managing the full spectrum of travel-related illness.

We serve patients from across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the tri-state area, from first-time international travelers to humanitarian workers, expedition trekkers, and frequent business travelers heading to the same regions year after year.

We are located at 31 Washington Square West, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10011 - steps from Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, easily accessible by subway (A/C/E/B/D/F/M to West 4th Street, or 1 to Christopher Street).

How is a travel medicine clinic different from my regular doctor?

Travel medicine is a specialty focused on destination-specific health risks, required and recommended vaccines, and the prevention and treatment of illnesses that travelers encounter. Most primary care physicians see travel medicine patients rarely and may not be up-to-date on regional disease outbreaks, drug resistance patterns, or the latest CDC and WHO guidance. Travelers Medical Center is dedicated exclusively to travel health.

Do you see patients who are already sick after returning from travel?

Yes. We evaluate and treat returned travelers with fever, gastrointestinal illness, rash, and other symptoms that may be travel-related. Our infectious disease specialist on staff has deep expertise in tropical and parasitic infections.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans. Coverage for travel vaccines and consultations varies by plan - we recommend calling your insurer before your visit. Our staff can assist with billing questions.
